Comment By Leanne Thomas :
"He captivated the audience and held them in the palm
of his hand for the whole show. He was clearly the favourite judging by the way the fans screamed,
whistled and clapped and even rushed the stage
at the end of his performance to give him flowers, balloons, cards, and teddy bears.
They didn't want him to leave the stage.
The fans adored him".

"The
photos were from Jim's 2nd Sydney show on Sat 14th August at The Canterbury-Hurlstone
Park RSL Club.
Jim
was the support for Gerry Marsden & The Pacemakers who were also Jim's
backing band.
It
is beyond my comprehension why such a magnificent performer as P.J.Proby
should be 2nd on the bill to anyone.
Jim
obviously had a few problems with catarrh during his performance but nonetheless
gave a brilliant performance which I hope I managed to capture in a small
way in my photos."

Comment By Tony Priest :
"Jim knocked them out again in Melbourne in his final show on 18th August,2004.Had the audience on their feet & in his hand. At the end he could hardly be seen for the flowers & gifts from the Australian fans.(see photo). The concert was a sellout & you will be interested to know that it was filmed (both Proby & Gerry & The Pacemakers). I will find out more details about this & let you know. Jim was still having trouble with his throat but sounded as great as ever.He was the obvious favourite with the audience & was really enjoying himself.
Robert Pratt had advised that there was a second Melbourne show on 19th August but it didn't eventuate & I'm sure it was a mistake as the promoter hadn't listed it nor was it ever advertised. Had it been I'm sure it would have sold as all 5 concerts that I went to were completely sold out.
We, (myself, wife & her cousin) were lucky enough to catch the same plane from Sydney to Melbourne with Jim (& Gerry & The Pacemakers & Billie Davis) on 16th August. Jim was just so nice to us, he was really wonderful & was obviously enjoying being in Australia. Both he & Billie were more than happy to pose for photos with us.
During the show he mentioned that he had wanted to come back to Australia but couldn't previously find a promoter who would bring him out here and he announced that the same promoter has agreed to bring him back to Australia to do his own show next year. In fact he also said he liked Australia so much that he was thinking about moving here permanently. I'm not sure that I could afford that because we've followed him through three states & covered thousands of kilometres.
But believe me we've had a fantastic time, met some great Probyans, & heard some brilliant songs sung to perfection by the one & only P.J.Proby."

P.J.Proby & Aussie Probyans,Melbourne 18th August 2004Comment By Bonnie Griffiths :
"Today I feel I am a very luck lady, some time ago I was invited to attend a PJ Proby show here in Melbourne by 2 very loyal Probyans, Tony Priest and Leanne Thomas, at the time I thought well why not, well I did go to that concert and I was completely overwhelmed, PJ Proby has such an aura about him, one hell of a voice and thinking about what super stars that we have left today, judging on the performance PJ gave last night I feel he must be the best there is, he is definitely of superstar status and must be given the credit that is due to him... PJ Proby is a superstar....."
